I know Scher's right about Susan Collins' precarious position on pandemic funding but I actually think her procedural point was right. It'll be too bad if taking a basically principled position on the stimulus blows up in her face. I thought it was strange that Lewis talked disapprovingly about the British government's ability to hold people for a long time (a month, I guess?) without trial. That's being done as part of the war on terror, in imitation of the US policy of throwing people in a dungeon indefinitely. The civil libertarian view of Britain here conflicts with the standard conservative view. I liked the episode overall, especially Lewis' breaking news about right wing drama. You guys should think about making a collaborative Twitter feed, you could call it "The Past 15 Minutes in Blog".
