That kind of attack sounds far more sophisticated than the routine DOS attacks that apparently occured a few days ago. I thought linking the attack to North Korea was pretty shameless by the way. The media ought to far more skeptical of such claims, though often they just aren't clued up enough to pass comment on such matters. How long before such attacks are used as a casus belli, I wonder if we will see digital sanctions? As for filtering-out bot traffic, I think the ISPs will have to come up with some filtering software that operates centerally to spot and block bot generated traffic. Google has for years blocked search requests that it thinks are bot generated, and although not perfect this maybe the best approach.
